Casper and Carin
A Weekend Wedding In The Country. Old Mac Daddy Hotel, Elgin Valley

We battled, as we have with a few weddings recently, to come up with the right words to describe the event that was Casper and Carin’s wedding at The Old Mac Daddy. There was just so much to it.
Even though they live in London, where they run a super successful design studio, called Shotopop, which kept them on deadlines right up until the week before their wedding, they managed to pull off a wedding that truly reflected who they are. They had a clear vision for a weekend-away of fun and celebration, food and unusual cocktails, with a small group of friends and family from all over the world. They wanted a wedding but not a wedding. And they certainly got it.
The wedding felt like a big party, almost like the ones we remember having as kids with our family and close friends on New Years Eve. Free from the formalities of a normal wedding the guests really enjoyed themselves. A lot. The volume never dipped. The pace never slowed. Not everyone needs to have a wedding like this, but at the same time it’s wonderful to see that people can be serious about what they want from a wedding, stick to it despite best advice and pull it off. We hope this wedding inspires other couples to be brave and go for it. It really is worth it.
One of our favourite weddings by a long way. No doubt. Thank you, Casper and Carin, for spoiling us like guests and for the chance to be there, camera and cocktail in hand, until the wee hours of the morning.
